Educating the mind without educating the heart must be the thought of the hour for all. Therefore, as educators we need to pause and reflect on the entire system of schooling. Are our schools well equipped to prepare our children to face the challenges that the future holds? How prepared are, ourselves to face the challenges of globalization and to match the advancement in technology? Questions such as these are factors that motivate us to go through a continuous process of reflection and hence we at Dashiding HSS work on implementing a well balanced curriculum to ensure that the children who walk into the gateway of our school will not just love their school years but truly be prepared to face life’s challenges. Children must be taught how to think, not what to think and to enable this, they must be provided with knowledge, imagination and innovation with creativity and encouraged through a holistic approach.
We must guide our children ahead with ethos of moral values and principles and endeavor constantly to instill these qualities and help them grow and develop into sensitive and responsible citizens. Teamwork is the hallmark of Dashiding Higher Secondary School. I am very sure through collaborative effort we can achieve more to benefit our students who are the future leaders of tomorrow. Dashiding School comprises of competent and an experienced teachers and efficient administration team. The school lives with the vision of creating a safe and supportive environment for its students: to provide a perfect balance of academics, sports, artistic and social opportunities. Childhood, youth and learning should be a joy and we strive for that.
Our school believes in giving our students, strong values which may carry them far and wide. In other words, our students are equipped to face the challenges of the rapidly changing world. We nurture students who are creatively curious and strive to experiment on innovative of new things on both academic and non-academic fronts. The pedagogical child centric and no child left behind with emphasis on inquiry and project-based learning seek to develop and nurture the different facets of a child. From academic to cultural dance, and a variety of sports, school focuses on developing both, the mental and the physical abilities of a student. The activities provide holistic grooming to the student wherein the child is able to explore his true potential. While studying at the school, the students will be groomed to become confident, articulate and progressive young citizen, ready to step into global society with dignity, honor and integrity. As a principal and manager, my role is to be a facilitator in the truest sense of Bhutanese Citizen and Culture lovers of our Homeland that would inculcate in students the broader learning attainments of education goals. As the teaching and learning become more complex, I only feel for, the need to agree on certain norms of social conduct to Guiding Vision, Mission and the Foundational Beliefs that every one of us makes to the cause of humanity or uplift of the nation as professionals.
